Restorative Yoga Workshops

I host monthly  Restorative Workshops on Sundays in the River Room Halton.

Location:  River Room, Halton Mill, Halton.
Time:  2-4pm
Investment:  £25

Two hours of a slow nourishing practice that boosts your immune system, calms down the body and stimulates deep relaxation.  I support the practice with hands on assistance, vocal guidance and many yoga props.

What is Restorative Yoga?

Restorative Yoga, also known as ‘Rest and Digest’ yoga, originates from the teachings of B.K.S Iyengar. Restorative Yoga is designed to support us to settle into our parasympathetic nervous system (the rest and digest part of our nervous system). This not only helps us to relax and destress but also can support us with connection to ourselves and others. The practice can bring deep relaxation and balance to both the mind and body.

This workshop is designed for everyone. Whether you are a seasoned yogi or have never done yoga before, it’s perfect for you.

During the workshop we hold simple, yet familiar, yoga poses for extended period of times. These yoga poses are supported by loads of props so that your body can slowly release into the poses. We are gently opening up the fascia (connective tissue) in the body which can support our physical and emotional wellness. This workshop really is suitable for everybody! We can work with injuries, illnesses and vulnerabilities you may be managing.

The postures used, all have different health benefits that support the body to recover from injury, illness, stress as well as detoxify the body and boosting the immune system.  The workshop will encourage deep relaxation, helping you to stop and switch off for two hours.

To support us to stay present and grounded I offer hands on touch, including a head massage, and breathing techniques. You will leave feeling realigned, deeply rested and de-stressed.
